No words can be found to describe the joy of the newcomers when they took a closer look at the gifts from the locals: they were of pure gold. That could mean only one thing – these peaceful lands have faced an unprecedented disaster. It was not a desire to explore the globe that urged European rulers to outfit expeditions. It was a far cry from noble incentive that forced Columbus and many of his followers to make their way to the New World. These expeditions had only one goal: capture as much gold, silver, spices and slaves as possible, and the means to obtain this goal did not matter…
Year: 2012. Six years passed since the time of the Second catastrophe to have made the April events of 1986 fade. The game is set in the Chornobyl exclusion zone which turned from a destiny-breaker place into a threat to all mankind. The Zone is reluctant to open up its mysteries and needs to be forced to do so. Only a rare hero can reach the very heart of the Zone and find out what danger awaits him there. A danger which, compared to marauders and enemy groupings, all monsters and anomalies, will seem as a mere preparation for a meeting with something more fatal and threatening. But for now… get ready, hero. Collect artefacts and trade, grope your path and keep an eye on what is going on behind you, catch x-rays and fight – only make sure you survive! And then, perhaps, if you are persistent and truly lucky, you will find out why all this had fallen on you.

In today’s update, we’re going to walk through what to expect from the future of New World: Aeternum. We’ve been listening to players and we know how important it is for the community to be informed of and understand what is planned for the game. We’re excited to share a first look at what is coming down the road in the near term, but also, we wanted to be transparent about some of the exciting content that’s a little further out. We’ve heard you loud and clear and have been thinking hard about how we deliver updates and give more visibility into not only what the team is actively working on, but also what is in early development, and even some of our very early ideas that we’re exploring in the studio.
The players may form groups of up to five members, join one of three factions (Marauders, Syndicate, or Covenant), gather raw materials (wood, stone, animal skins etc.) from resource nodes, craft items, gain control over settlements, quest, explore the world, or fight other players or monsters.
Events like Legacy of Crassus and Rabbit’s Revenge are making a return, offering new players a chance to experience these seasonal favorites. Certain events, like the Legacy of Crassus, will receive enhanced rewards beyond level 700. Expect additional details at a later date.
A new Outpost Rush map is coming, offering players a fresh battlefield to conquer and test their skills in this strategic PVP game mode. Outpost Rush is a team-based competition where players gather resources, capture objectives, and outmaneuver opponents in epic battles for dominance and rewards. This new map will have a preview weekend during Season 7, so keep an eye out for more details.

The first Seasonal World will focus on PvP.
