Others have spawned sequels that out play and out perform their original games. Some games that have been released years ago are still popular today, like League of Legends, Minecraft, World of Warcraft, and Dota 2. Other good games trending now include Fall Guys, Among Us, Overwatch, and Rocket League.
Fortnite Battle Royale has been on players’ radars since 2017, but it exploded in popularity in 2018. And with that, it’s still leading in terms of numbers and dramatic effects, but popularity isn’t as important because they’ve only been targeting boys, whereas PUBG has targeted all genders.

Much to my satisfaction, I did not find this to be the case. If anything, I would argue that I had even more fun playing it now on my Nintendo Switch than I did when I first played it in 2010. I say this for multiple reasons, one of the main ones being the pure nostalgia I felt from the moment I saw the bright orange loading screen and heard the iconic soundtrack, to the moment I defeated the final boss Gideon in level 13 and saw Scott finally victorious in his conquest of Ramona’s Exes. I felt as though I was back in my old neighborhood in my friend’s room, consuming way too many cool ranch Doritos and grape sodas on a school night. And after the last year, I must say that this was a very welcome throwback.
Loosely following the story of the graphic novels, up to four players can play as Scott Pilgrim, Ramona Flowers, Kim Pine or Stephen Stills, along with the unlockable character NegaScott and the downloadable characters Knives Chau and Wallace Wells, who must battle through seven levels in order to defeat Ramona’s seven evil exes. Characters have their own individual movesets, which can be expanded upon by gaining enough experience, and are also able to use weapons. Each player has Heart Points and Guts Points, the latter of which can revive players if they are knocked out, or be used to perform special moves such as summoning Knives or the unlockable assist character Mr. Chau. Defeating enemies earns coins which can be spent in shops to purchase items that can replenish health or boost stats. Certain items can be taken “to go” to be automatically used when the player runs out of health. Players can also enter Subspace areas which act as bonus areas where extra coins can be earned. During co-operative play, players can revive fallen comrades at the cost of some money, give each other health or money, and simultaneously taunt for a combined attack. Various cheat codes unlock extra features, such as a Sound Test, a Boss Rush and a Survival Horror mode.
Prior to release, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game received nominations for Best Downloadable Game of E3 2010 by both GameSpot. It was nominated for Best Downloadable Game and won Best Adapted Video Game at the 2010 Spike Video Game Awards.
I haven’t encountered any bugs besides the long time to reach the status or move list from the map screen. I also didn’t find much difference between the difficulty modes. I’ve played a few hours on all three and found it to be fairly difficult regardless. Playing with 2 players ramps up the number of enemies and it maintains difficulty, but with 3 players it seems to be a good deal easier. Also, since we’re nitpicking, it’s Kings of Power 4Billion%, not just 1000%. Who wants a measly 1000% when you can have 4Billion? 🙂
The PlayStation 3 version of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game received “generally favorable reviews”, while the Xbox 360 version received “mixed or average” reviews, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.
I think it’s fair to say that 2010 was a simpler time for most of us, and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World was definitely a part of that simpler time for me. I remember watching my friend play the game on his Dell PC and eventually taking Scott on his epic journey to defeat Ramona’s evil exes for myself.

With the bases loaded and no one out, Yankees ace Gerrit Cole would strike out the next two batters. Now with two outs, Dodgers right fielder Mookie Betts hit a soft grounder to Yankees first baseman Anthony Rizzo, but Cole did not cover first base and Rizzo couldn’t beat the speedy Betts to the bag, giving Los Angeles its first run of the game.
When Buehler struck out Verdugo to end the game, the Dodgers poured onto the field to celebrate between the mound and first base, capping a season in which they won 98 games and finished with the best regular-season record.
Jack Flaherty didn’t have his best stuff and was pulled after recording just four outs. The first couple of relievers that followed also had their struggles. The sold-out Yankee Stadium crowd was ready to party.
The next batter, catcher Will Smith, grounded one to Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe who tried to throw out the runner at third but couldn’t as all runners advanced safely. Volpe was given an error on the play.
