Star Wars Outlaws gets behind the scenes featurette Massive Entertainment gave us a glimpse into the design process behind Star Wars Outlaws, showing off everything from motion capture techniques to concept art. Featuring observations from director Steve Blank, art and world director Benedikt Podlesnigg, and senior creative executive Matt Martin, the preview has plenty to offer for those looking for an insight into exactly the sort of game Star Wars Outlaws will be.
Thousands of credits weighed heavy in my pocket after sneaking into Jabba the Hutt’s territory to steal vital info for another syndicate. I could buy new clothes, weapon parts, anything I wanted. Instead, I spied a street vendor on the corner and decided to get some grub for my fuzzy four-legged companion Nix. The resulting rhythm minigame can only be described as the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
By the end of my four hours with Star Wars Outlaws, all I wanted to do was play more. I’ve found myself growing increasingly burnt out on open world games over the years, but this open world feels like one of the most complete and coherent I’ve seen in ages. I’ll need a lot more time with Outlaws to know how it measures up against incredible games like Red Dead Redemption and Ghost of Tsushima, but the fact that it’s reminding me so strongly of them is a good thing indeed.
I think there should be an open world game, where you can create your character and be a Jedi, and it could be online. It should probably be based in the clone wars era because of its online there will be a lot of Jedi and it will make sense, and you can go to any planet and like do whatever, and do missions or something. I think that would be fun to play
Game 5 world series 2024
Despite losing in five games, the Yankees had more hits, more home runs, more stolen bases, and more walks over the course of the series. On the pitching side, they allowed far fewer base runners and held a lower ERA than the Dodgers. The Yankees, however, had poor defense throughout the series, which was highlighted by the five-run fifth inning in Game 5 that saw New York not convert three routine plays into outs. Yankees’ ace and Game 5 starter Gerrit Cole lamented on the inning, calling it “as bad as it gets “. Longtime New York baseball sportswriter Bill Madden would call the Yankees 2024 World Series loss one of the worst in franchise history, while fellow New York sportswriter Joel Sherman referred to the series as a dark cloud over the Aaron Boone and Aaron Judge era, who fell to 1-7 to non-AL Central teams in the postseason since 2017. In the lead-up to the series, Dodgers’ scouts told their players to put the ball in play and make the Yankees execute (this in reference to New York’s sloppy defense throughout the season).
Game 1 featured starting pitchers Jack Flaherty for the Dodgers and Gerrit Cole for the Yankees. Country singer Brad Paisley performed “The Star-Spangled Banner”. In tribute to Fernando Valenzuela, his former Dodger teammates Orel Hershiser and Steve Yeager placed a ball on the blue No. 34 painted on the pitcher’s mound instead of throwing out a ceremonial first pitch.

With the Yankees leading by a run, reliever Jake Cousins was sent in to pitch the last three outs. He got Smith to fly out, then walked Gavin Lux. Edman followed with an infield single to put runners on first and second with one out. Cousins was then removed from the game and replaced with Nestor Cortés Jr., who hadn’t pitched since September 18. Cortés Jr. first faced Ohtani, who hit a ball into foul territory that was caught by a leaping Alex Verdugo, who toppled into the front row of the stands. Because Verdugo went out of play with the ball, the runners were awarded one base, advancing them to second and third. With the Dodgers down to their final out, the Yankees intentionally walked Betts, thus loading the bases and bringing Freddie Freeman to the plate. On the first pitch, Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam over the right field wall, winning Game 1 for Los Angeles. This is the third consecutive World Series Game 1 to be decided in extra innings, after it previously occurred in 2022 and 2023.
Gerrit Cole was excellent over 6.2 innings, but some poor defense from the Yankees — including Cole himself — led to five unearned runs in the fifth. The Dodgers then took the lead for good in the eighth and got a stunning performance from their bullpen, especially Blake Treinen and Walker Buehler, to close it out.
World series 2024 game 5
And yet: the game was still tied, still there for the taking if the Yankees could flush the cataclysmic fifth frame and focus on the opportunity ahead. That said, after such an unbelievable series of events put the game in question, the notion that the Yankees could still emerge victorious felt awfully unlikely.
Stanton’s sixth-inning sacrifice fly off Brusdar Graterol put the Yankees ahead 6-5, but the Dodgers rallied one last time in the eighth after Kiké Hernández singled off Kahnle leading off, Edman followed with an infield hit, and Smith walked on four pitches.
Cole gave the Yankees all he could in Game 1, allowing one earned run and no walks over six strong innings. The decision to take him out after 88 pitches caused some controversy after New York blew a small lead and lost on Freddie Freeman’s walk-off grand slam. But it’s clear Aaron Boone trusts his ace more than any other starter.
