When is game 5 of the world series
That plan might have worked since the Dodgers had seen a steady diet of Lance McCullers’ curves before Peacock came in. Maybe it’ll work again in Game 5 because pitches that actually end up within the strike zone will have the Dodgers similarly off-balance.< https://philippinetoursandpackages.com/ /p>
If Noah Syndergaard can pitch another inning while keeping the Astros at one run, the Phillies would be ecstatic. He hung a curveball to end the second, but David Hensley let him off the hook by swinging through it. The question is whether Rob Thomson lets Syndergaard face Jose Altuve again. If anyone reaches beforehand, that would be a surprise.
Noah Syndergaard is probably only going to get one trip through the Astros’ lineup before Rob Thomson starts piecing together the remaining outs like a puzzle. If those nine hitters aren’t almost all outs, it puts the Phillies in a massive hole. Thomson showed Philadelphia’s urgency, pulling the infield in after Jose Altuve’s leadoff double. Disastrous stuff early for Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, on September 23, the Milwaukee Brewers clinched the NL Central division title. On September 28, with the Cardinals and Braves tied atop the Wild Card standings on the last day of the regular season, the Cardinals routed the Houston Astros 8–0 in Houston, while the Braves lost at home to the Philadelphia Phillies 4–3 in 13 innings, securing the Cardinals’ second wild card postseason berth in franchise history. St. Louis finished with a record of 90–72, 6 games behind the Brewers in the NL Central but one ahead of the Braves in the Wild Card. Thus, they completed the largest comeback in history with 32 left to play. Due to their fixtures in different divisions, they played fewer head-to-head games, further lowering Cardinals’ odds of catching the Braves.

The Series began on October 19, earlier than the previous season, so that no games would be played in November. The Cardinals enjoyed home-field advantage for the series because the NL won the 2011 All-Star Game 5–1 on July 12. The 2011 World Series was the first World Series to go all seven games since the 2002 Series.
It was a rematch of Game 2’s starters: Cardinals lefty Jaime García and Rangers starter Colby Lewis. Texas jumped on top immediately, with Josh Hamilton driving in Ian Kinsler in the top of the first. The Cardinals responded quickly with a two-run Lance Berkman home run in the bottom half. Kinsler tied the game in the top of the second with a ground-rule double, scoring Craig Gentry. García was pulled after only three innings (and 59 pitches) and replaced with Fernando Salas. Leading off the top of the fourth, Matt Holliday misplayed a Nelson Cruz pop fly, putting Cruz at second. Mike Napoli singled him home to once again give Texas the lead.

Texas once again took a two-run lead in the 10th on Hamilton’s home run, and after manufacturing a run to cut the deficit in half, St. Louis was again one out away from defeat. But Lance Berkman laced a game-tying single to center, making the Cardinals the first team in World Series history to come back from two different two-run deficits in the ninth inning or later. There would be no deficit in the 11th, however, as Freese — the eventual Series MVP — blasted a walk-off home run to center field off Mark Lowe to force a Game 7.

With two men on, the Mets had some life, and had one of their best clutch hitters up in Knight, who took a fastball down the middle for a strike, then hit a slow roller down the third base line that Boggs let roll foul.
After the top of the tenth, NBC began setting up in the visiting clubhouse for what they believed was the inevitable postgame victory celebration. The Commissioner’s Trophy had been brought into the Red Sox clubhouse along with several bottles of champagne, team co-owner/president Jean Yawkey and pitcher Bruce Hurst (who had already been named the series MVP by the sportswriters) with Bob Costas ready to preside over the presentation. However, after Stanley’s wild pitch in the bottom of the tenth, everything was quickly struck and removed from the room before the Red Sox returned. Costas later recalled the removal of all the equipment for the postgame celebration as being “like a scene change in a Broadway musical. In, out, gone, not a trace.”

The Mets still did not have an answer for Hurst through the fourth and fifth innings, going down in order in both frames. The Red Sox, conversely, went down in order against Fernandez in the fifth and sixth, which kept the deficit at three. In the bottom of the inning, the Mets were finally able to break through against their series nemesis and turn the tide in their favor.
World championship final game
Preparing for a World Chess Championship is one thing, but experiencing the intense pressure of the actual event is another. Even top players like Magnus Carlsen, Garry Kasparov, and Ding Liren have faced challenges in their first World Championship matches. The pressure can be overwhelming, leading to unexpected mistakes and emotional turmoil.
India’s D Gukesh and China’s Ding Liren played out a Neo-Grunfeld Defense: Classical, Original Defense opening pattern in the Round 7 of the World Chess Championship Final happening in Singapore on Tuesday.
Gukesh has secured a clearly superior position, putting Ding under significant pressure, especially with the clock ticking down. However, much like yesterday, Gukesh misses a chance to press his advantage. On the 26th move, he places the wrong knight on the c5 square, allowing Ding a temporary reprieve.
18-year-old Gukesh pocketed a cool Rs 1.68 crore ($200,000) for his game 3 win over Ding Liren at the world chess championship. This is as per the regulations in place for the World Chess Championship 2024, as decided by the global governing body of chess, FIDE.
Gukesh has a pawn on the c file which might be asking a few questions off of the world champion. Otherwise, there are no real complications on the board. Both players have four pawns, a rook and the queen and king on the board.
