Who knows? Buehler needed no leash in Game 3. Like Schmidt, he walked the first batter he faced. Unlike Schmidt, he was in command from that point forward. Buehler was in prime postseason form, carving up Yankees hitters as he went five shutout innings on two hits and two walks while striking out five. Buehler went five scoreless innings in Game 3, and at 76 pitches, he could have kept going. It was his best start of the year, and it predictably came on the biggest stage.

After Freeman homered in the first, it did seem like the Yankees might just roll over and get swept. Instead, they ended up, as the night went on, slowly working themselves back into shape.
