Who is hot and who is not?Dodgers: Edman continues his hot hitting, following up a two-hit Game 1 with a solo homer and a double in Game 2. Freeman has also homered in back-to-back games, extending his World Series home run streak to four games.
“I’ve definitely got to step up, and I’ve got to do my job,” Judge said. “Guys around me are doing their jobs, getting on base, and I’m failing at backing them up. We’ve got to turn it around in Game 3.”

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks tied the game on Craig Counsell’s one-out home run in the first off of Mike Mussina. After a scoreless second, Mussina led off the third by hitting Tony Womack with a pitch. He moved to second on Counsell’s sacrifice bunt before Luis Gonzalez’s home run put the Diamondbacks up 3–1. A single and right fielder David Justice’s error put runners on second and third before Matt Williams’s sacrifice fly put Arizona up 4–1. After Mark Grace was intentionally walked, Damian Miller’s RBI double gave Arizona a 5–1 lead.

Game 7 looked to extend the Yankees consecutive-win streak, but the “never-say-die” Diamondbacks rose to the challenge and put together one of the greatest late-game comebacks in World Series history. After Kim had surrendered the trio of heartbreaking home runs in New York, the Diamondbacks returned home and rallied against the incomparable Rivera who had converted twenty-three straight postseason saves and had struck out the side in the eighth (with a 2-1 lead). As Luis Gonzalez stepped up to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, the Yankees infield moved in to prevent base-runner Jay Bell from scoring. The positional strategy proved disastrous as “Gonzo” connected for a shallow looping single (that just cleared the infield in center) sending home the winning run and sealing the World Series title. The Diamondbacks (many of them veterans getting their first taste of the World Series) exploded from the dugout as the “neighborhood bully” Yankees had finally fallen to the “new kids on the block”. Because of postponements after 9/11, the Series did not begin until Oct. 27 and lasted to Nov. 4. In just their fourth season (and first under manager Bob Brenly), the D-backs won the NL West with a 92-70 record and advanced to the Series by beating the Cardinals and Braves. There they met the mighty Yankees, who had won the last three World Series and four of the last five. New York, managed by Joe Torre, won the AL East with a 95-65 record and knocked off Oakland and Seattle en route to the Fall Classic. Each team boasted a 2001 Cy Young winner — Arizona’s Randy Johnson and New York’s Roger Clemens — though neither got the start in Game 1.
January 30, 2000. The Rams and Titans meet in Georgia Dome for the Super Bowl XXXIV. NFL MVP Kurt Warner throws for a Super Bowl record 414 yards while leading his powerful offense to 23 points. Titans quarterback Steve McNair rushes for a Super Bowl record 64 yards and leads his team down the field on their final drive with a chance to tie the game. With five seconds left on the clock, McNair completes a nine yard pass to Kevin Dyson who is tackled by Mike Jones on the one yard line as time expires. The Tennessee Titans fall one yard short.
Now Brenly called on Johnson, who had thrown 105 pitches the night before. The 49,589 fans at Bank One Ballpark rose to their feet and erupted in cheers at the sight of Johnson’s entrance. Brenly later said the left-hander had told him he was good for an inning.15 Johnson faced right-handed batter Chuck Knoblauch, pinch-hitting for O’Neill, and got him to fly out to right field.
Who won game 3 of the world series
Saturday’s 4-2 victory by the Los Angeles Dodgers over the New York Yankees averaged 13.44 million on Fox, Fox Deportes and streaming. That is a 65% increase over last year’s Game 2, which at 8.15 million was the second least-viewed World Series game on record.
“No one said it’s going to be easy,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters after Game 2. “It’s a long series, and we need to make it a long series now. We won’t flinch. We’ve just got to keep at it.”
How did the Dodgers push the Yankees to the brink of elimination, and is there hope left for the home team in Game 4? We’ve got it all covered, from updates and analysis during the games to takeaways after the final pitch to what’s next for each team.
Of course, Yankees fans are aware of the only time in baseball history a team has come back after losing the first three games of a best-of-seven series. It was 2004 ALCS when the Red Sox did it to the Yankees en route to their first World Series title in 86 years.

There is action combat, of course, and it feels especially slick in the initial few battles. For instance, enemies are way more reactive than in other MMORPGs, often dodging and darting around you. It forces you to stay on your toes at all times. Since there’s no tab-targeting system, you need to aim each of your attacks, so the timing of a particular attack or dodge roll can make or break a fight. This would be exhilarating if it were built upon from there, but it drops the ball in that there isn’t all that much variation to how your character plays over time as you level up.

As with any MMORPG, there’s a PvP element to New World: Aeternum, which comes in a few different forms. For starters, you can flag yourself for PvP, allowing anyone you encounter to attack you. This isn’t my cup of tea, and in my week with the game, I saw exactly one other person on my server, so I didn’t really get a chance to try it out.
This section also doubles as my first real experience of combat outside of the tutorials when I come across a slew of corrupted sailors. As someone who played far too much New World, the combat immediately feels more dynamic, with the transition from rapier to musket almost dreamily smooth. I take on some heavier enemies, zip around them, and cut away at their health bars from afar. As a player who likes to hit hard and get out unscathed, it feels perfect.
I’ve tested the game on the controller to get a feel for it, and overall, the UI optimization and tweaks to PvP aimlock are great. Compared to Throne And Liberty, I feel like it’s a much easier game to get stuck into—Throne just has so many buttons and fiddly targeting settings that everyone except the most hardcore console players will struggle to settle into it. New World, in comparison, provides a more casual experience with a low barrier of entry. You could spend the next two months gathering and crafting, never needing to run a raid, fight anyone in PvP, or ever engage with any of the MMO aspects at all if you don’t want to. It’s the sort of MMO experience that console players just haven’t had available.
